CHEER

Cheerleading was established in Great Britain back in the 1860s, but became extremely popular once it reached America in the 1880s. Believe it or not, it was first noticed by a group of male students attending Princeton University when they realized that chanting and cheering at school football games really boosted the energy of the game and the school spirit. Cheerleading later evolved into something much more by adding physical and athletic elements and can now be seen at sporting events as well as competitions. In addition to cheers and chants, cheerleading now includes stunting, tumbling, dancing, motions and jumps. Our cheer instructors place an emphasis on teaching these skills safely and effectively while giving our cheerleaders the skills they need to excel in cheerleading. Each position in cheerleading plays an important role for the execution of the whole team and the whole routine. Cheerleading teaches physical endurance, strength training, flexibility, coordination, leadership skills, positive energy levels, discipline, teamwork, support, encouragement and much more! Through all of these elements learned, we build team camaraderie and trust in order to succeed as Act Two Cheerleaders!
