MUSICAL THEATER

The art of musical theater is known to have been dated back to Ancient Greece where they expressed their theatrical performances on stage through music, dance, and acting. A lot of these performances told comedic and tragic stories. The year 1735 was the first musical theater performance to come to America! Musical theater has evolved into a variety of different forms over the centuries. Today you may see different forms of Musical Theater like Broadway, Musicals, Film & Television, Operas, Disney, etc. At Act Two, Musical Theater is a dance class using songs from Broadway and movie musical productions. Generally a jazz dance based class, elements of ballet, tap, and lyrical jazz are also incorporated. Facial expressions and body language are used to develop the character and advance the plot line through song and dance.


Concurrent ballet or jazz class required. Tap class is also highly recommended with musical theater.
